On Wednesday , June 29 , Mesa County Health Department recognized 20 Mesa County businesses for excellence , welcoming them into the Partnership For Food Safety Program. The program is a proactive approach to food safety that focuses on preventing foodborne illness outbreaks.
Businesses that will be recognized on Wednesday have met the following criteria:
- At least 90% of the facility’s food handlers have a Mesa County Food Handler Card or a ServSafe certificate.
- A food safety certified manager is on premise during all hours of operation.
- The facility has proactive procedures in place , such as documentation of temperature logs , self-inspection forms and pest control contracts.
